Adventure Fronts/Session Threads

  • Auroran Equity League
    • Someone wants to deliver a package of documents to Governor Redensky of Arion.
    • When the PCs warp in, they find a light freighter docked with a corvette with a pair of fighters nearby. The corvette and fighters have no IFF enabled.
    • The message is a three-way trade agreement between entities on Arion, Ceres, and Clarum. Fertilizer from Arion goes to Ceres, Crops from Ceres go to Clarum, small vessels from Clarum go to Arion. Anyone with political knowledge will see this trade agreement as a foundation for political alliance.
    • The pirate center of operations is on planet Tranquility, which reports fewer thefts than neighboring planets. With three competing criminal organizations, it's a natural place to get the best price to fence your stolen goods.
    • "I wasn't expecting you, but I'm glad you're here! Local law enforcement has reason to believe the syndicate is planning something, but we don't know what."
      • SMART - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound.
      • Either "we're diplomats now, we can't do that" or "yea sure, we'll go snatch and grab this guy for ya."

Secure HVT

If the PCs want to help out they go somewhere to try and secure a Malteena HVT.

Die Hard

The Malteena Syndicate wants to steal federal bearer bonds that the governor has accumulated.

Pirate Organization

This is like moonshiners is the 23rd century. You need someone to produce the goods, fence the goods, and sell the stolen goods. Some of these are illegal (black) activities, legal (white) activities, and suspicious (grey) activities.

  1. Robbery (Black)
  2. Fence (Grey)
  3. Launder (Black)
  4. Transport (White)
  5. Sell (White)

"Legally proving a violation of anti-fencing laws can be difficult." -Wikipedia

Adventure Fronts

Federation Navy

Cabal (impulse: to absorb those in power, to grow)
GM Moves for Ambitious Organizations

  • Attack someone by stealthy means (kidnapping, etc.)
  • Attack someone directly (with a gang or single assailant)
  • Absorb or buy out someone important (an ally, perhaps)
  • Influence a powerful institution (change a law, manipulate doctrine)
  • Establish a new rule (within the organization)
  • Claim territory or resources
  • Negotiate a deal
  • Observe a potential foe in great detail

Challenge

In the past war has always stimulated the economy, and brought together large groups of people under a common goal. Why should now be any different? The Vell-Os have shown no proclivity to war, nor any real show of force to back up claims of a protectorate. Bring it on.

David Redensky, Governor of Arion (Aurora)

Misguided Good (Impulse: to do what is ‘right’ no matter the cost.)

Challenge

There have been a series of high-profile deaths lately that David does not think were coincidental…
"We regret to inform you of the untimely passing of Lee Norris. Husband to Bridgette, father to Casey and Taylor, and esteemed Member of the Arion Parliament. Memorial services will be held the week of 27.4.12 of the Arion calendar."

Cho-Sae, Ambassador of the Vell-Os Collective

Construct of Law (Impulse: to eliminate perceived disorder.)
GM Moves for Planar Forces

  • Turn an organization (corrupt or infiltrate with influence)
  • Give dreams of prophecy
  • Lay a Curse on a foe
  • Extract a promise in exchange for a boon
  • Attack indirectly, through intermediaries
  • Rarely, when the stars are right, attack directly
  • Foster rivalries with other, similar powers
  • Expose someone to a Truth, wanted or otherwise

Challenge

The Ambassador is an empath and is driven by his nature to ease suffering and woe, and enforce the law. This gets him into trouble.
